Channel Power

How to change my 4 Channel Amp to power my speakers.?
I will be getting 2 polk Front Speakers and 2 6×9s for my 99 accord. Right now I have a 4 channel 1000 watt amp hooked up to my 1000 watt sub. I am looking to get a monoblock amp to power the sub and then use the 4 ch amp to power the speakers. Is it difficult to rewire the 4 ch amp and is it worth the trouble?
It shouldn’t be that difficult, but, little work is involved. You need to properly disconnect the cables from the head unit & route the RCA output cables to 4-ch amp. and then from amp. you need to wire them to doors. You will have to change the speaker cables due to length issues.
You can still re-use your sub wire. But, you need an extra power cable & fuse.
As your sub is 1000W; you might end up adding a stiffening capacitor as well.
Definitely worth doing so, as a mono block is preferred to power a sub. So, you are doing right by pulling the 4-ch back to do the job it is intended to.
