Bic Acoustech

bic acoustech speakers , are they the best?

Wow, they’re not even in the running. Who told you that?

Edit:

Message to the guy that never lets me have the remote: I think you were right the first time. Bic Acoustech seems to be a copycat name mooching off of Tannoy. I agree with you about Tannoy, good product! I didn’t see anything called “Acoustech” at their web site though.

Here’s a website selling the suspect brand with no indication that Tannoy had anything to do with them.

Here’s what appears to be their “official” website, but it turns out to be a retailer in Las Vegas.

Another suspicious brand is BIC America. Neither BIC America nor BIC Acoustech look anything like Tannoy speakers, but they are exact duplicates of each other. Another reason I believe you were right in the first place.

If you actually found out Bic Acoustech is by Tannoy during your research, could you provide a link please? Thanks in advance!

Esequiel: In the ’70s and probably beyond, guys used to drive around in vans selling low end speakers with familiar sounding names glued on them. The story went “I just made a delivery and I got these two pair of speakers left over. They must have misloaded my van.” And so on went the con… They often produced a brochure with an amazingly high retail price right on it. Is that how you saw these speakers? I would bet that some web sites are right on par with the guys that used to run vans. Why maintain vans and pay street hustlers when you can mail speakers to people that have never heard them and pay in advance? Is that how you found BIC Acoustech?

If you’ve already bought them, I hope for your sake I’m wrong and He Who Must Hold the Remote’s edit is right!
